Getting through the ugly phase is the worst but yeah you have to push through the ugly to get to the pretty. Oooh Margaret Rogerson!! I really enjoyed Sorcery Of Thorns.
Sorcery of Thorns was the first one I read! I found it very delightful as well. She's got a great way of developing these high concept worlds in a very engaging way that gets buy in super fast. Now I'm reading Enchantment of Ravens, so I'm looking forward to seeing what she does with it.
Absolutely, I love that - pushing through the ugly to get to the pretty!
And I think I know what you and your teacher mean by "ugly phase" when creating art - when I'm writing a story, there's the chaotic mess that are my notes first, then my outlines, and etc. until something that is a story finally comes out! 😆
Anyways, looking forward to seeing how your version of Ecstatic Electromancer turns out!
That's exactly it! Everything is crazy, color is all over, the story feels murky... and then bada bing it all comes together at the end! No wonder us creative types are a little crazy haha.
